How the Floor Refinishing Service Works
All the furniture in the room should be removed and put somewhere safe. Permanent ceiling fans, AC outlets and wall light fixtures should be covered using plastic sheets and masking tape well ahead of our technician’s arrival at your home.
Remember that if the room where your floors are being refinished need to be used, you should plan for them to be unavailable during the floor refinishing service. This may mean staying with friends or family, or renting a motel room for the night. However, our capable technicians will do everything that they can to minimize the inconvenience to your family members as a result of their refinishing work.
We Will Need Some Information from You Too!
The entire hardwood finish will have to be sanded off in order to expose the top of the wood floor itself. After all of the damaged finish has been taken off, our expert technicians will apply a fresh new surface coating. You can choose from a selection of available finishes, ranging from a high gloss to flat matte. However, the most common finish used on new hardwood flooring is polyurethane containing aluminum oxide for extra strength. It will be a wise idea to stay away from the actual work area once it has been completed until the finish has dried completely.
