Expect The Best On Hardwood Floor Installation Day

Expect the best on hardwood floor installation
When you choose prefinished solid hardwood or engineered wood, you can walk on your new floor the same day it is installed. With unfinished solid hardwood, the room can't be used until the floor acclimates to its new surroundings. The installers at Young Interiors Flooring Center have high standards, and they like to keep customers in the Longs, South Carolina, area happy. Thus, you can expect as little intrusion on your daily routine as possible on installation day.

Being prepared

There is no stress when you have prepared your home for the installers. All items, including wall art within three feet of the floor, should be removed from the room that will be renovated. Installers do some work outside, so there needs to be a clear path to the room. Dust is kept to a minimum, but it is still best to cover furnishings and electronics in nearby rooms. Remember that unforeseen problems, such as subfloor damage, can add hours to the quoted timeframe.

The installation

Engineered wood can be installed over existing hard surface flooring since it is designed to click and lock together to float over the subfloor. Solid hardwood is nailed to the subfloor, so current flooring is removed. Installers take care of disposal if carpeting is removed. Unfinished hardwood installation includes sanding, staining, and finishing in the home. This traditional process, including acclimation, takes up to two weeks.
